On May 11 at the CIF Southern Section Championships Nathan was crowned champion in the Division 4 Pole Vault. Nathan brought home the second CIFSS Championship in de Toledo High School history.

All of us in the de Toledo High School community extend heartiest congratulations to our highly accomplished student-athlete Claire G. ('27), after she took home a Silver Medal in Rhythmic Gymnastics at the 2024 Rhythmic Pan American Championships and Tournament in Guatemala City.
Unbelievably excited to announce that this past weekend two de Toledo student films – “It Won’t Be Me” (written and directed by Gracen M.M., ’25) and “The New Car” (written and directed by Eden L., ’26) – won State Level Finals Awards at the 8th Annual SAFE (Streets Are for Everyone) PSA Film Competition sponsored by Honda!

So excited to share that this past weekend in Anaheim, de Toledo’s Competitive Dance Team took part in the Showstopper Dance Championships (the largest dance competition in the country) and absolutely rocked!!!

This past week, we experienced an incredibly moving and heartfelt day here at de Toledo High School, as Congressman Brad Sherman (D-32), Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield and other dignitaries joined us on campus to welcome the twelve inspirational Israeli teenagers we have been hosting at our school and in our community.
For the first time ever, de Toledo High School held yesterday on campus a unique Master Class Day for prospective new students (in the 6th grade and above).
In a world that constantly challenges the values and identities of young individuals, an ethically- based, Jewish educational foundation has never been more important. For teenagers, navigating the complexities of adolescence while staying connected to their Jewish heritage, culture, and religion is a unique challenge. de Toledo High School embraces this challenge.
This past week on the dTHS campus has been especially inspiring, as we’ve been hosting both our Hungarian Budapest Exchange Program (BEP) students from the Lauder Javne School and our Uruguay Exchange Program (UrEP) from Escuela Integral in Montevideo simultaneously.
One of the most unique programs at de Toledo High School is our Medical Science Academy, a three-year specialized course of study encompassing college preparatory academics, lab work, surgery internships, and international medical missions for students interested in pursuing careers in medicine or nursing.

As part of de Toledo’s annual Arieh Diamond Memorial Speaker Series, we were thrilled to host on campus today Rabbi Adam Naftalin-Kelman, the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation Executive Director of Hillel at UC Berkeley.
One of the most unique student experiences at de Toledo is Drishat Shalom. A four-year commitment and graduation requirement, this core aspect of the school’s Jewish Studies curriculum calls on students in 9th-11th grades to study, research, and analyze traditional Jewish texts before developing final portfolios and giving public Drishat Shalom (“words of peace”) presentations in 12th grade.
