I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be a teacher at this time. Teaching to a bunch of teenagers who are just rolling out of bed. Trying to inspire them and educate them. I am so incredibly grateful that my kids have amazing relationships with their teachers and respect their teachers. The fact that they get to zoom class on their devices and see each other is a blessing during these unusual times. My kids LOVE DeT, the teachers and their friends. Bravo 👏 to everyone at DeT. The teachers have been fabulous in continuing to engage the students in as close-to-normal classes as possible. I know it’s not easy - experiencing it first hand myself with work from home, family, WiFi issues. Thank you for doing what you do. And for being patient with the process. The best thing you are doing for our kids is giving them structure and normalcy in a time when that’s what they crave and need most. I have been very impressed with the smooth transition from classroom learning to online learning. All the teachers seem very adept at learning new computer technology. A huge thank you to all the teachers!! (Especially those that have young kids at home, who are trying to teach our kids while still watching and helping their own kids.) -

Teaching is hard while in school, but teaching and keeping the kids engaged via a screen has to be that much harder. I'm impressed (although I was before the shut down) at how my daughter's teachers interact with her about assignments, tests, getting creative with learning in a very short time. dTHS was one of the first schools to go on line so quickly and without much difficulty. Thank you to all the teachers who learned a new skill in remote learning while most have their own children at home. -

The teachers are phenomenal and are doing such a great job at making the students feel like they are in school and that their learning matters and counts. Keep up the great work, this is such a hard thing to learn, to go from teaching in-person to completely online. I am floored by the dedication of the teachers to be so prepared so quickly in the face of this unexpected crisis. After the first week, I had to stop talking about it to neighbors whose kids go elsewhere because it sounded like bragging. The teachers might as well have flown in with superhero capes on, that's how much they (along with staff I don't necessarily see) have saved the semester. Dean Schwartz has been especially amazing in her availability during such trying times. -
