de Toledo Alumni Lead Advocacy on College Campuses

With Jewish university students facing intimidation, harassment, and discrimination... it's more important than ever to prepare our teens to confront antisemitism and become their own best life advocates.

That's why, here at de Toledo High School, we equip teens with the tools they need to be inspired by their Jewish identity, to stand up and speak out for what they believe in, and not to be afraid to do the right thing and protect their Jewish peers.

For all these reasons, it's been no surprise that de Toledo graduates have been front and center in advocating for Jewish students during the recent unrest on college campuses.

For example, at UCLA, Maayan G. (’23) made national news when she called on her university to “take accountability” for protecting Jewish students. Watch Maayan's TV interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqPsid6P5EI&ab_channel=NewsNation

At UT-Austin, in the face of vitriolic anti-Israel protests, Nathan S. (’19) encouraged his fellow Jewish students to “be strong” and stand up for their rights. Watch Nathan's TV interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=b6HDzKx9sYM&ab_channel=CaliforniaSenateDemocrats

UC Berkeley student, Brooke R. ('23), spoke to lawmakers at the California State Capitol to summon support for Senate Bill 1287 to help safeguard Jewish students on college campuses. Watch Brooke's press conference here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=b6HDzKx9sYM&ab_channel=CaliforniaSenateDemocrats

And UCSB student, Corelle G. (’23), was asked to speak to the Israeli Knesset to give legislators a briefing on the challenges faced by Jewish students on U.S. college campuses. Watch a testimonial from Corelle at: https://dths.myschoolapp.com/app/detail/album/video/1962229?play=1

We’re so proud to see how our alumni have been the ones inspiring, guiding, and helping support other Jewish students at college during these challenging times!
