Three dTHS Students Chosen as Community "Upstanders"

Earlier this week, three de Toledo students - Shira F. ('26), Clay D. ('25), and Aaron M. ('25) - were honored as "Facing History & Ourselves Upstanders" for their work in student leadership and community service.

The program involved a gathering of other Upstander winners from schools throughout the Facing History & Ourselves partner school network. Together, the students learned from the facilitators and each other about the key elements of being an Upstander ("a person who speaks or acts in support of an individual or cause, particularly someone who intervenes on behalf of a person being attacked or bullied.") The goal was not only to celebrate the students' work but discuss how to inspire others in their schools and broader communities.

Congrats Shira, Aaron, and Clay!
