Summer Sports Info & Courses

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Class size is limited, and enrollment and scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • dTHS reserves the right to cancel any offerings due to under-enrollment or other circumstances.
  • dTHS will notify all registrants of final course/class decisions as follows:
    • JUNE 6 Semester 1: Summer School, Camp Eco-Botics, Summer Spark, and Summer Sports
    • JUNE 23 Semester 2: Summer School, Cap Eco-Botics, Summer Spark, and Summer Sports
  • FORMS
    • dTHS requires the following documents to have a “wet signature.” Please print, sign, and return the required Registration Agreement and Emergency Medical Form. These forms must be mailed, faxed, or hand-delivered to dTHS by June 7. Upon completion of registration the relevant links will be emailed to you, also, as a reminder.
    • dTHS STUDENTS ONLY : dTHS requires the following documents to have a “wet signature.” Please print, sign, and return the required Course Approval form for academic classes.

REFUND POLICY

  • If a student withdraws on or before May 12, 2017, 100% of the course fees will be refunded. The $100 registration fee will not be refunded.
  • If a student withdraws between May 13 and June 11, 40% of the course fee(s) will be refunded. The $100 registration fee will not be refunded.
  • If a student withdraws for any reason on June 12 or any time thereafter, no refund(s) will be authorized.
  • If a student is dismissed or terminated from the course, no refund(s) will be authorized.
  • dTHS will notify all registrants of final course/class decisions as follows: June 6-Summer School Semester 1, Summer Spark, Summer Sports, and Camp Eco-Botics June 23- Summer School Semester 2, Summer Sports, and Camp Eco-Botics.
  • A full 100% refund will be made in all cases when a class is cancelled by the school. The registration fee will also be refunded, if you registered for only the one cancelled class.

TRANSPORTATION

There is no dTHS bus transportation available for Summer 2016. Parking and driving information will be provided to all registered students. The campus is available for student drop-off starting at 7:30am.

DRESS CODE

Summer Session dress is informal but must be tasteful and modest in nature. The school reserves the right to decide if students are appropriately dressed. No provocative or revealing attire may be worn. No torn clothes, bare feet, or bare midriffs are acceptable.

LUNCH / SNACKS

Students may bring snacks or lunch onto campus. Students are discouraged from bringing non-kosher food onto campus. Vending machines are available on campus.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The baseball summer program will develop hitting, fielding, and throwing skills, as well as baseball strategy. This program will include weekly strength, agility and cardiovascular training.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will improve the skills of experienced players and teach new prospects the sport. Athletes will learn and improve their skills in positioning, shooting, passing, and dribbling. Strength training and conditioning will also be included.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Dancers will learn the strengths of their own bodies while focusing on the fundamentals of dance such as: technique, musicality, choreography, and improvisation. Styles taught will vary between Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. Instructors will teach short combinations as well as give dancers opportunities to choreograph on their own.

      COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will improve the skills of experienced players and teach new prospects the sport. We will break down the fundamentals of passing, trapping, dribbling, and shooting. Players will train individual skills and also play in small-sided games.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will improve the skills of experienced players and teach new prospects the sport. We will break down the fundamentals step by step for serving, passing/digging, setting, hitting, and blocking. Advance skills/drills will include jump serving, scooping, cross hand rebound, footwork, sprawling, pancaking, contact on the ball, etc. The smallest details will help you improve your game! Participants will also learn advance rotations, defensive and offensive strategies, and different volleyball systems. Strength training and conditioning will also be included.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will improve the skills of experienced wrestlers and teach new prospects the sport. Athletes will learn and improve upon pin and escape techniques and moves from the neutral, top, and bottom position. Strength training and conditioning will also be included. Wrestlers need proper wrestling shoes and sweat pants to wear during workouts.
