We are thrilled to announce that student, Morgan Davidson (’15), has been chosen as a recipient of the Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards!

The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards, based on the Jewish concept of “repairing the world,” recognize Jewish teens who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and are actively engaged in projects that embody the value of tikkun olam. Recipients are awarded $36,000 each for their extraordinary leadership, innovation and commitment to making the world a better place.

She will be receiving this prestigious award for her philanthropic “lifesaver” work with the City of Hope and Be The Match, as well as her leadership and innovation for creating the Ambassadors for Hope Clubs.

Morgan is the 3rd NCJHS student to receive this award: Shira Shane (’06) received this award in 2008 for her work in aiding genocide victims, and David Weingarten (’10) received it in 2010 for his work in aiding the growth of the Abayudaya Jewish community in Uganda.

Today, David (University of Washington 2014) is working on a Masters of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership at UW.   He is beginning his 5th season with the Washington Huskies football program, serving as a Personnel and Recruiting Assistant for the team.  As an undergrad, he served on Hillel UW’s Board of Directors as a Student Representative and served as a student senator.   Shira is a Project Manager, Executive Team with mOcean an entertainment creative agency in Los Angeles specializing in branding, marketing and content development.  She earned both a Masters and Bachelor’s  degree at Stanford University.
