Homelessness & Sukkot

9.26 Homelessness & Sukkot

Written by cheri

NCJHS is part of a coalition of Jewish schools and organizations who are building a sukkah composed entirely of homeless signs.  We are using the sukkah throughout the year to teach about homelessness and to encourage leaders to end homelessness in Los Angeles.  At today’s Town Meeting, VBS’s Rabbi Farkas spoke to students about his efforts to lead the effort to combat homelessness.  Our students created an exhibit made from homeless people’s signs, made sandwiches to donate to a food bank and collected clothing and canned goods.   Photos
