From April 17th-21st, 3 senior Talmud students participated in RAVSAK’s Moot Beit Din competition in Philadelphia. The program began with chesed projects throughout the city, learning about the local Jewish food pantry, assisting students with special needs at local schools and helping run Shabbat assemblies at Hebrew schools throughout the area. Afterwards, our students had the chance to visit the American Jewish History Museum and tour around the historic portions of Center City. Shabbat was celebrated with joyous song and prayer, in which NCJHS students led several components. The competition itself took place Sunday, with the students presenting a brilliant response to this year’s question of whether a Jewish person may attend a Catholic friend’s wedding. They presented their response brilliantly and addressed the judges’ questioning with poise and grace. It was a wonderful experience for these students and a great moment for our school.
